A Hipbone session- his hand is a little small but the belly turned out kinda nice

Everything else is found references.

Elizabeth McGovern from Downton Abbey

A portrait challenge From WetCanvas

A blacksmith guy from Google images done yesterday. I wouldn't back into his Harley.

Progress has been sluggardly through the winter, but there have been a few postable things. [spell check doesn't like sluggardly- the pedantic fools]

a Hipbone Studio:
a Wetcanvas portrait challenge. This was yesterday -I'm not so sure about the boys eyes/nose:

A trip last fall to Beacon Rock yielded a bunch of washed out, contrasty photos, but I did a digital study of one that may go somewhere:
a Google source photo that will be a gifter at Christmas

and a bevy of head studies:

some more portrait studies
this a Norman Rockwell copy: like the eyes but the mouth got a little twisty. It's hard to embrace the schmaltz he dealt in but he sure could paint.

been a regular at Hipbone Studio lately. Some of these suffer from difficulty seeing facial detail
from 20 feet, especially eyes.

some scale issues on the last -gave her a withered arm.
a Washington Park landscape which I've fussed over for 2 months. It defies an accurate photo.
a still life from a WetCanvas image -pretty much all with a flat soft brush. It went so well, unlike my
usual still lifes I figured I'd throw together one of my own.
Which became one of those time traps that I dread. The more I fuss with detail the deader it all gets.
a Morgan Weistling copy. Love his "casual" brushwork, which inspired some of the following:
from some Rennaisance Fair images I snagged from Google, more to follow.

Cutest little girl -she looks like Peppermint Patty

the only Hipbone Studio I've done in the last 6 months

a found photo of Big Sur
and another of the Sedona area (don't bust me if you know the photographer)
and portraits in plenty

Since August, I guess. Shameful

a couple landscapes that didn't stink- a lot more did.
Powell Butte and Hoyt Arboretum

a couple one-night sessions at Hipbone Studio

couple of the better head studies

and a copy of Waterhouse's Lady of Shalott started with high spirits last Sept that has quite worn out its welcome. It was laid out from a magazine two page image with a grid -no drawing errors this time. Apart from that whole staple fold thing. By the time I got to detail in the lap/gunwale line I saw it was all too long and her body twisted. Had to fudge her thigh to keep it from being freakishly long.

A couple from my shots -Cape Lookout and Hoyt Arboretum. The more recent painting photos benefit from a new camera -10MP upgrade from 4.

Couple from Hipbone Studio -The August sessions were suspended for lack of participants. Temporary I hope.

Found photo I think

Copy of Biondina (Frederick Leighton I think) Perspective of the eyes didn't quite work but I brought it to a finish I don't usually do anyway.

Think these last two were both Wet Canvas Images.
